wet waste

wet waste

Wet waste is a type of solid suspended in a liquid that is capable of polluting the environment. The safe removal, carriage and ultimate disposal or recycling of wet waste streams, is at the heart of what we offer at Hydro Cleansing. Our commercial wet waste services include septic tank emptying as well as commercial wet waste services, interceptors, and culverts.

Which Wet Waste do we process?

Hydro Cleaning is capable of processing a huge variety of wet wastes at its own facilities, and for special wastes has a long established network of leading alternative facilities across the country. We can process

  • Gully Waste
  • Sludge Dewatering
  • Road Sweepings
  • Storm Drain Debris
  • Sewer Grit

Each of these wastes will provide a dry solids that are recycled where possible and water that will be used by our fleet. However the first requirement of any wet waste related activity is to establish the correct EWC code for the waste.

Sewer Grit

Our commercial wet waste services follow the same basic steps:

  • Establish an EWC code (usually EWC 20 03 03)
  • Agree quotation amount and quantities
  • Signed WAF
  • Waste collection
  • Gross weight measured
  • Transfer waste to treatment plant
  • Net weight measured
  • Invoice with required documentary and compliance records.

Sewer Grit

At Hydro Cleansing we receive unlimited volumes of sewer grit. We always make sure to process it into a useful building material and water at our London depot. Sewer grit builds up in areas of the sewer network where the flow rate is lowest and can easily block the system. Instead of dumping wet waste in landfills, we provide concrete slurry removal to remove small stones, dirt and winter grit.

Street Sweeping

HCL are leading experts in the safe disposal of street sweepings. We are committed to providing our treatment facilities to any and all road sweeper operators. We provide our expert service from our London depot, to independent operators to prevent businesses dumping wet waste in landfills.
