flood response

HCL’s rapid response flood team have rescued and restored hundreds of homes and businesses throughout London and the South-East. Our team is equipped with the latest technology and specialist equipment which help with the removal of, internal and external flood water from your property, in less time than it would take the competition to complete the task, restoring your property back to its original state with minimum disruption. Our equipment has the capability of cleaning up water damage and reaching and removing flood water from basements and other subterranean dwellings.

Responding to a Flood

Once our Emergency Flood Response Team has been called out, there are a few things you can do to avoid further damage and reduce risk to yourself, staff and the public:

  • Where it is safe to do so, turn off gas, electricity and water supplies when flood water is about to enter your home. Ensure you do not touch any sources of electricity when standing in floodwater.
  • If you come into contact with floodwater, wash your hands thoroughly. Floodwater can contain harmful substances like sewage and/or chemicals.
  • Move any valuables to a dry area or store them away safely if possible.

If you live in a flood risk area, it is important to ensure you have a flood response plan in place. Call us today for help planning and preparing any special requirement.

Flooded Basements

A flooded basement requires quick action to prevent extensive water damage. Our standard vacuum tankers can remove up to 27,000 litres of floodwater from basements at depths of up to 30 meters below ground level.

Flooded Gardens

Garden floods can affect property and surrounding areas and can be caused by poor weather, blocked drains, or riverbanks overflowing. Our tankers are equipped to remove floodwater from gardens and have expandable hoses with capabilities of easily reaching remote locations.

Flooded communial areas

We provide immediate response to clear away floodwater in communal areas, restoring them to a normal state. When communal areas, which are outside the local authority catchment, become flooded it is crucial for your well-being that this is resolved fast and effectively.

HCL’s flood response team and vacuum tankers can clear communal areas of all floodwaters, which helps to reduce any damage caused to the property and surrounding areas.
